The Taurian Campaign:

Track 1: Ridgebrook

The opening salvos of the Reunification war came in the Ridgebrook system. Knowing that the Taurian Defense Forces stationed here would not be able to stand against the overwhelming firepower that the nascent Star League was bringing to bear, the local commander decided in true Taurian fashion to make them pay dearly for the pacification of the world. Pulling back to a network of mountainous valleys and box canyons, the Hegemony and Davion forces had to root the Taurian ‘Mechs out one by one.

Your force is one of the units that, upon grounding, was sent into this grinder of Taurian traps, ambushes, and fanatical desperation. The tall cliffs prevent much maneuvering, the spars of the ridges provide places for the Concordat defenders to spring out unnoticed as the Star League troops make their advance.

Despite the higher than anticipated casualties, the last defender was destroyed two months after hostilities began, and the Star League taskforce had it’s foothold into the Concordat.

Campaign Special Rules:

Tech Level: Level 1
Unit Restriction: TRO 3025—Primary or Davion / Capellan variants, Early Davion / Capellan designs from TRO 3075.

Star League Victory condition:
Destroy Taurian Force.
Continue to Track 2

Taurian Victory condition:
Survive.
Continue to Track 3.

TRACK: RIDGEBROOK (RW—TC—1)
DATE: 12 September 2578
FORCE: Star League Aligned Unit
TRACK COST: 50 Warchest Points
SPECIAL ABILITIES: 1 at 20 WP Cost

OVERVIEW:

This scenario simulates a pivotal battle in the effort to pacify the Taurian Concordat planet of Ridgebrook. Your unit is the spearhead unit in the assault on the natural formation that serves as the fortress for the Concordat defenders. As such, the attacking player unit will be given a bonus to force size. The defender will field no more than 80% of the attacking unit’s compositional size, by whatever means the group has decided to be the determining factor (BV, C-Bill, Weight).

The defenders, however, have been training and preparing for this eventuality for three days short of forever, keeping with the TCF’s mentality. The defenders will gain +2 on all initiative rolls and, barring the attacker from taking the same Special Ability, will Bank the Initiative.

The Star League deploys on the “south” edge.
The Taurians deploy anywhere north of the half-fold on the “Desert Canyons” mapsheets

Combat Awards:

Destroy Taurian Force: 25 WP
Lose 25% or less of Star League Force: 25 WP
Win 3 Consecutive Initiative Rolls (Luck Bonus): 10 WP
Disable Taurian Commander’s Mech1 (Strategy Bonus): 10 WP
Move 50% of force from Canyon floor to Canyon heights (Tactical Bonus): 5 WP

If you fight FOR the Taurians, you're the OpForce in this campaign and have no chance to expend or recieve Warchest Points.

All of the flankers will be on the field, and if we need it, light tanks as well. First game
